Manhattan: 40th Street (West) - 3rd Avenue

The 440 Club was a popular downstairs watering hole for local office inhabitants. So named - 4 East 40th. After losing lease it became a restaurant which failed within a short time. Bldg will be demolished to make way for new (proposed) home of The Republic National Bank. Earl Christian, photographer (NYPL) Aug.1979
