Queens: Union Turnpike - Utopia Parkway

Union Turnpike, at the N.W. corner of Utopia Parkway, showing the abandoned Van Siclen house. In 1873 the land was owned by C. Van Siclen, comprising 124 acres on both sides of Union Turnpike, then called Union Avenue, the eastern limit of which was Utopia Parkway, then called Fresh meadow Road. In 1909, however, the farm was comprised only of 49 acres and was owned by Garrett Van Sicklen. P.L. Sperr March 31, 1927
