Brooklyn: Fulton Street - Elizabeth Place

26 Fulton Street, at the S.W. corner of Elizabeth Place, showing the building in which Hans Bergen carried on a bakery from 1717 to about 1730, in conjunction with a store, and a stable for horses of the residents of the Island when crossing to New York. The stable was a stone building, located, as near as can be ascertained, on the westerly corner of Fulton and Elizabeth Streets. A portion of the walls of which are supposed to form the easterly end of the building located there. In 1840, it was N. Guerneys' Mechanic's Hotel. 1922. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection.
