1890-1898 Park Avenue at the S.W. corner of East 129th St., showing the frame structure built in 1869 and used as a vaudeville theatre, public dance hall, political club gym, fight arena, courthouse and jail. It was once owned by "Boss Tweed" who deeded it to his son in 1872. Twenty years ago it housed Lew Dockstader's Minstrels. Gus Hills Minstrels appeared here. Jack Dempsey and Gene Tunney pugilists trained and fought beneath its mansard roof.
