Manhattan: 54th Street - 5th Avenue

54th Street, west from Fifth Avenue. To the right is the University Club at the N.W. corner of this point, while beyond is the Warwick, at the N..E. corner of Sixth Avenue. Between same is a modern structure, reputed to have been financed by the Rockefeller who formerly resided opposite same. At this date, the John D. Rockefeller Sr. home is gone leaving his son 's standing (left center), That will soon follow as per article in the New York Sun of Sept. 12, 1938. Views 2 and 3 are eastward from Sixth Avenue and are progressive. Note in the last the fenced clearance where the gardens of the new Museum of Modern Art are to be.
