Organized at Provincetown in 1915, the Prov. Players found themselves a theater at 139 MacDougal St. in 1916. Moved to 133 in 1918 and remodelled same. Closed in 1922, the theatre reopened in 1923, changed management in 1925 and ran until the "crash." Dark from 1930-1936, it was reopened this time to house the Studio Theatre of the Community Drama Unit of the WPA Federal Theatre.
