East River - Queens shore - Astoria - [Tisdale Lumber and Coal Company.]

East River, Queens shore, Astoria, showing the neck of land which protrudes into the East River at Hell Gate and forms Pot Cove on the north and (left) Halletts Cove on the south. On the tip, where the river bends, was located old Fort Stevens. Some marble works, the Tisdale lumber and coal yards, an iron foundry, and other manufacturing plants line the shore.
