Brooklyn: Clarendon Road - 59th Street (East)

(1) Clarendon Road, south side, (formerly known as Canarsie Lane, at this point), between East 59th Street and Ralph Ave., showing the S.W. view of the Pieter Claesen Wyckoff Farmhouse, built in 1664. The south side of the house is covered with the original shingles. In 1890 the original roof was replaced by a tin roof. This house was originally occupied by Pieter Claesen Wyckoff and subsequently by his son Claes, followed by Claes' son Peter in 1719. In 1860 it was occupied by John A. Wyckoff; in 1873 by John W. Wyckoff and in 1901, the heirs of John A. Wyckoff sold it to Francis Gross. March 1924. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection. (2) The same, in 1923. 1923. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection.
