Brooklyn: Atlantic Avenue - New York Avenue (East)

Atlantic Ave., east from a point east of the intersection of East New York and Atlantic Aves., showing at the left, the Central Hotel which later housed the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. At the right background, is a turreted building, which was Jewell's 26th Ward Bank; established in 1888, by Ditmas Jewell at No. 2500 Atlantic Ave., in rented quarters, on March 25, 1889. The first location was at the corner of Georgia Ave. The cornerstone for the new building was laid on July 7, 1891, and the building opened March 3, 1892. 1897. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection.
