Manhattan: Stone Street - Broad Street

24-40 Stone Street, south side, east from, but not including Broad Street, to Coenties Alley. No. 32 (the 3-story house with the gabled roof, in the center of the view), is more than 100 years old, now serving as the home of the American Banker; a bank publication. In 1835, this building had its narrowest escape when the Great Fire of that year, which laid the greater part of that section south of Wall Street in ruins, burned up to the building's side of wall, and went no farther.
