Brooklyn: Flatbush Avenue - Ditmas Avenue

(1) 1249 Flatbush Ave., east side, between Ditmas and Newkirk Aves., showing Cortelyou House, erected about 1820, when it was occupied by S. Cortelyou, and later to be moved to 412 East 25th Street. Prior to 1922. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection. (2) The same, showing another view of the Garret Vanderveer House alias Cortelyou House. It was erected in 1820 by Simon Cortelyou who was the son-in-law of Garret Vanderveer who owned the house in 1842. Incorrect data; see The Cortelyou Genealogy by J.V. Cortelyou, 1942, p. 295.
