First Avenue, at and adjoining S.E. corner of 52nd Street, after demolition of 938 First Avenue, where a wing of the new South Gate apartment house development on 52nd Street will front on First Avenue. 424 East 54th Street, shown here, is already completed; and the houses between that building and the rear of 944 First Avenue, on the corner, are being demolished to make room for two more, No. 400 and No. 412.
