Manhattan: 3rd Avenue - 21st Street (East)

(1) East 21st Street, at, adjoining and west of the N.W. corner of Third Ave., showing, a row of 3-1/2 3-story buildings (Nos.157 to 149 East 21st Street and 260 Third Ave.,); 3 four story structures, )Nos.151 to 147) and 2 five story houses (Nos.145 and 143). The corner building bears only No.260 Third Ave. and appears in Bromleys R.E. Atlas (1922) as a 4-story structure. Overhead on the Ave. is the Third Ave. Elevated Line. August 5, 1937 P. L. Sperr. (2) A detail of same, showing the 4 and 5-story units mention in No.1. They are Nos.151 to 147 and 145 to 143 respectively. The modern apartment house appearing on the left is No.44 Gramercy Park which replaced several brownstone houses that were numbered 135 to 141 East 21st Street. August 5, 1937 P. L. Sperr. (3) A portion of No.1, in an eastward direction and across Third Ave., showing mainly the 3-1/2-story structures at the N.W. corner. They consist of Nos.153 to 157 East 21st Street and No.260 Third Ave; the latter being directly at the corner. Appearing across the avenue and at the N.E. corner of this street is a 4-story edifice that bears No.263 Third Ave. and No.201 East 21st Street. August 5, 1937 P. L. Sperr.
