Bronx: Westchester Avenue - Hobart Avenue
Westchester Ave., north from Hobart Ave., to Morris Park Ave., showing the "Spy Oak". It is said to be the largest of its kind east of the Rockies and the last remaining vestige of the vast primeval forest that once covered this entire area. History tells us that during the American Revolution, a British Spy, captured in this neighborhood, was summarily hanged from one of its branches, hence its name. 1892. Gift of Randall Comfort.
