Queens: 98th Street - Jamaica Avenue

98th Street (formerly Diamond Street), west side, north of Jamaica Ave., showing in a set of two views the John B. Napier farmhouse of 1860. J. Napier was the owner in 1891. The first Napier settled here in 1844 and died in 1890. "At a meeting of the inhabitants of Woodville, held in August 1853, Dominicus Vandeveer being chairman, the name was changed to 'Woodhaven.'"
