Queens: Liberty Avenue - 121st Street
Liberty Ave., at the N.W. corner of 121st Street, showing the Martin G. Johnson house. John Johnson of Flatbush purchased the farm upon which this house stands in 1744. His son was Martin whose son was George. Robert Johnson, another son of John Johnson, removed to Wallabout. He was the father of Gen'l. Jeremiah Johnson. Mrs. Isaac Cornell Remsen nee Georgiana J. Ditmars, was a neice of M. G. Johnson, and with her husband moved to this farm subsequent to 1882. 1922. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection.
