Manhattan: St. Nicholas Avenue - 187th Street

1541-49 St. Nicholas Avenue (formerly 2510-18 Eleventh Avenue) at N.W. corner of 187th Street. The view is west on the north side of 187th Street. These buildings were erected, in their original form, around 1895, when this was a very sparsely settled part of town. The name of the Avenue was not changed to St. Nicholas until 1910 or later.
