Queens: Grand Central Parkwa - 50th Avenue

Flushing Meadow Park (Queens): An extensive view, northeastward, across the swampy meadows from near Grand Central Parkway and 50th Avenue, showing the area that later became the main exposition center of the New York World's Fair 1939-40. On the horizon is the village of Flushing; on the left, the subway "El" on Roosevelt Avenue and the bridge that carries the avenue over the Flushing River.
