Manhattan: Battery Park - Aquarium.

Battery Park: A set of 4 views of the Aquarium, located in the southwestern corner of the Park at the waters edge. This structure was completed in 1805 as Fort Clinton, subsequently known as Castle Garden during which period (1822-1855) numerous celebrities performed here. In 1855 it became the State Immigrant Depot and nearly ten millions of immigrants passed through its walls. In 1893, these duties being assured by the federal government, it was ?? for the new Depot on Ellis Island and became the present Aquarium in 1896 under the direction of the New York Zoological Society.
