Queens: Union Street - Bayside Avenue

Union Street (Whitestone Ave.) (right), south from about Twenty-ninth Ave. The house seen in this view faces Bayside Ave. This site was the headquarters and the property of Col. Hamilton of the British army. The house that then stood on the site burned down in 1779. The present house was erected in 1780. Henry Mitchell purchased it in 1804 and it was not sold again until 1921. This is a set of three views.
