Manhattan: Union Square (East) - Between 14th and 15th Streets.

Union Square East, from 14th to 15th Streets, inclusive, from an elevation, showing the 8-10-12 Union Square, old residences, and the Hotel America at 104 East 15th Street, being remodeled for S. Klein's expending business. This is the newer Hotel America; the building was taken over from the Hotel Jefferson (originally Hotel Dam, built around 1885). The old Union Square Hotel, built in the late 70's, occupies the site of 14-16-18 Union Square, on the S.E. corner of 15th Street. The Union Square Savings Bank on the N.W. corner was erected between 1902 and 1910. August 4, 1930. P. L. Sperr.
