Manhattan: Chambers Street - Church Street

Chambers Street, west from a point midway between Church Street and West Broadway (Ninth Avenue "El" thereupon) and across the latter to West Street. Buildings on the right are on the north side of this thoroughfare, at the N.E. and N.W. corners of which at West Broadway, are the Cosmopolitan Hotel and the 10 story Irving Building. Opposite the latter at the left is the 14 story Gerken Building, occupying a site at the S.W. corner. Note the cobblestone pavement and the surface car track. Exclusive of the absence of same, this thoroughfare is identical in 1939. April 1, 1928 P. L. Sperr
