Pelham Bay Park: A view of Glover's Rock on the south side of City Island Road, slightly east of Pelham Bridge Road. Here began the Battle of Pell's Point under Colonel Glover, who held back the British long enough to allow Washington to reach White Plains. The tablet was erected on October 18, 1901 by the Daughters of the American Revolution, Mount Vernon, New York, Bronx chapter.
