3237 Rawlins Avenue, at the N.E. corner of Lohengrin Place, showing the Oscar C. Ferris Mansion (Dripp's map of Westchester County). It was built prior to the American Revolution and is said to have been General Howe's headquarters, after he landed British troops at Throgg's Neck in October 1776 (see the City History Club's 1923 edition of Landmarks of New York, p. 136). The Mansion is now (1936) occupied by Spanish nuns. June 1926. Brown Brothers.
