Recreation and Hobbies--Bathing (Brooklyn): Local youngsters seeking relief from the hot sun by getting sprayed from a fire hydrant. The hydrant was converted into a sprayer with the use of an overturned, perforated garbage can. The view is eastward along the south side of Metropolitan Avenue from Leonard Street.
