1. East 33rd St., west from 1st Avenue (right foreground) and showing at the north west corner of same a gasoline station. Note in the background the Empire State Building at Fifth Ave. Underneath the street surface runs a tunnel of the Pennsylvania Railroad, connecting their terminal at 7th Ave. with Long Island. March 27, 1938. 2. A similar view from a point of vantage between 1st and 2nd Aves. Note at the right the Church and School of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church.
