E. 8th St., south side, at Mercer St., showing at the S.E. corner of same, a five story structure which will be reduced to three stories. This building No. 60-62 E. 8th Street is the property of the Sailors Snug Harbor Corporation. The photographer is viewing south eastward to Broadway, which appears at the left margin. Feb. 4, 1938. P. L. Sperr, The same locale one year latter, showing the one-story taxpayer that replaced the above mentioned structure. The view extends at the left to Astor Place where a partial glimpse of Cooper Union Institute appears. Broadway is the intervening thoroughfare. April 13, 1939 P. L. Sperr
