Central Park: The Lake, view nearly due south, showing five ducks swimming in the foreground, and the midtown skyscrapers on the horizon. The Hotel Plaza, with the Chrysler Building behind it, is a little to the left of center. May 17, 1933. P. L. Sperr. The same, another view. Notice how the Empire State Building at Fifth Avenue is hidden by the building between Essex House and the R. C. A. Building at Radio City. A little to the left of these, just in the center, a dirigible balloon is seen against the sky, probably the Goodyear blimp. May 17, 1933. P. L. Sperr. The same, two years later. Another contrast is provided by the fact that this third picture is an afternoon view, possibly as late as four, which explains the blackness of the shadows along the shore to the right.
