Central Park: The Mall, crowd with roller skaters. During this and the following year, this sport, always more or less popular, suddenly became a craze; young, middle aged, and old, children and adults, all took to roller skates. The Mall and the Central Park walks, together with the east sidewalk of Central Park West, were favorite locations, but by no means the only ones. May 15, 1933. P. L. Sperr. The same, another view.
