(1) and (2) Sylvan Terrace (formerly Sylven Place), west from Jumel Terrace. This little block of wooden houses, terminating in an elevation on the east side of St. Nicholas Avenue, was a real estate development of the early 1880's, when this part of town was still suburban. See also Jumel Terrace, and St. Nicholas Avenue, east side, from 160th to 162nd Streets. The building in the background is on the west side of St. Nicholas Avenue. October 12, 1934. P. L. Sperr.
