(1) Riverside Drive, from a point on a line with West 178th Street (right, George Washington Bridge) to West 181st Street (left, also known as the Plaza Lafayette) showing a general view northeastward of that area, popularly called the Heights. Towards the left center one sees apartment houses that stand on the Revolutionary Fort Washington site. September 29, 1932. P. L. Sperr. (2) The same. The photographer is viewing northeastward from the north side of the new George Washington Bridge which extends out from West 177th and 178th (right) Streets. The small cottage shown is the Monastery of St. Clare which occupies a strip of land between Riverside Terrace (raised portion of the Drive) and Haven Ave. and bearing No. 328 upon the latter.
