47-40 Washington Square South, west from Sullivan to Macdougal Streets. Compare with Brown Brothers' photo of this block in 1905, a year or two after Sullivan Street had been cut through from West Third Street. As shown here, the buildings are shortly to be remodelled into apartments and studios. About 1922. Gift of E. M. Jenks.
