York Avenue, from 69th to 71st Streets, seen from the east side at 69th Street, with clearing on east side in foreground. Excavation for the new New York Hospital and Cornell Medical College buildings is going on on the east side of the Avenue from 68th to 70th Streets. The buildings on the east side from 70th to 71st Streets are being demolished. On the west side, the garage on the N.W. corner of 69th Street is new, since 1920. The other buildings date back to the 1890's and in some cases a little earlier. August 21, 1929.
