Bronx: Palisade Avenue - Independence Avenue

Palisade Ave. (foreground), at the N.E. corner of Independence Ave., showing a 2-story stucco house occupying that site. Across the roof of the house, in the background, is the I.G. Johnson Mansion, on a lofty hill at the S.E. corner of Henry Hudson Parkway and Kappock Street. The driveway on which the truck is parked is Independence Ave. The G.W. Bromley map of 1924 as revised to September 1932 shows the house to be on block 3407, lot No. 201. May 25, 1937. P. L. Sperr.
