Manhattan: 7th Avenue - 13th Street (West).

Seventh Avenue, at W. 13th Street (center) as viewed north eastward from the vacant lot on the west side of the Avenue between 12th and 13th Streets. Here stood the old row of buildings that were familiarly known as the "Rhinelander Flats" and which were recently demolished after several postponements. Note the P.A.L. (Police Athletic League) shack with checker players surrounding same which is staffed by W. P. A. employees. Buildings seen are on the east side of this thoroughfare; View No. 2 emphasizing the 13th to 14th Street block. To the left of this is the Metropolitan Temple at the N.W. corner of the Avenue and 13th Street. Opposite this and the S.W. corner of 14th Street is a large loft and office structure. June 15, 1938.
