Manhattan: Park Avenue - 39th Street

(1) Park Avenue, east side, from 39th to 40th Streets, seen from the tall building at 271 Madison Avenue, showing the Nurses Club at the N.E. corner of 40th Street and the Navy Club adjoining it. The other houses in the block, beginning with the small one in the middle, are to be demolished in 1933. In the background may be seen some of the 42nd Street skyscraper the twin buildings of Tudor City overlooking the East River, the dim outlines of Long Island City on the other side. December 2, 1931.
