Flushing Meadow Park (Queens): The British (left) and Italian Buildings at the World's Fair of 1939-40, seen across the Lagoon of Nations in a northeasterly direction. The architects of the British Building are Stanley Hall and Easton and Robertson. The goddess Roma dominates the Italian Pavilion which combines classical with modern architecture.
