Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 33rd Street

Fifth Avenue, west side, from West 33rd to 34th Streets, showing at this location the demolition of the old Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. This view taken in a south-eastward direction shows the northerly (34th St.) side of this edifice. The photographers vantage point is a building on the north side of 34th Street, midway between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Fifth Avenue and Astor Court are to the left and right respectively of the Hotel. The latter will disappear and be included in the site for the Empire State Building. November 7, 1929 View 2
