Queens: Broadway - Victor Avenue

Broadway, east side, between Vietor and Elmhurst Avenues, showing in a set of 4 views the Woodward-Vietor house. The owners of this property were Theo Vietor, 1852, T. Vietor, 1860, and H. Vietor in 1873. Nathaniel Woodward, married Mary, daughter of Captain Samuel Moore in the early 18th century. The original, homestead stood some distance to the north and was torn down about 1880. This area has been part of the Woodward farm since 1666. One of the out-buildings a barn was occupied by the British as a hospital during the Revolutionary War. 1922 View 1,2, 3 and 4. Eugene L.
