Manhattan: 42nd Street (West) - 5th Avenue

West 42nd Street, north side, between Fifth and Sixth Avenue's, showing the West Presbyterian Church. It was organized in 1829 with 18 members and it's first house of worship was erected on Carmine Street in 1832. The structure shown was erected in 1862. Note the Single Tax Club in the adjoining building at No. 27. The date of this photo is inferred from the presence of the electrified street car tracks. About 1905 Gift of Urbrock Collection
