321 East 34th Street, north side, between First and Second Avenues, (Harriet Hubbard Ayer Building) general view northward. Three views forming a panoramic arrangement to show the 42nd Street-Midtown skyline of Manhattan. From left to right these buildings are: No. 10 E. 40th Street, No. 500 Fifth Avenue (under construction), The Leftcourt Colonial (No. 295 Madison Avenue), the Lincoln, the Chanin, the Chrysler and the News. Prior to 1929 none of these structures were standing. Across the foreground runs the Second Avenue "El" passing the westerly side of St. Gabriel's Park. This garden and play area is between E. 35th and 36th Streets. In 1939, this will undergo radical changes as the new 38th Street-East River Tunnel approach will pass thru same to an entrance on 34th Street. P. L. Sperr September 17, 1930 Views: 1-2-3
