171-187 Cherry Street, south side, east from, but not including Market Slip, to the Manhattan Bridge. Nos. 171-173 is the Madonna House, a Roman Catholic Retreat. September 7, 1927. P. L. Sperr. No. 173 Cherry Street, the private residence with the statue of the Madonna over the door is the former home of Alexander Hamilton.
