Manhattan: Central Park - [View of the Arsenal Building.]

Central Park: A set of 4 views of the Arsenal under reconstruction, photographed in a northeastward direction from in the Park, showing the rear of same with the menagerie to the south (frame structures on the right). Across the background are buildings on the east side of Fifth Ave. at about 64th Street. The corner stone of this structure was laid on July 4, 1847. Later it became the headquarters of the Park Police; who still occupy same today (1938). January 1924. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection.
