Manhattan: Extra Place - 1st Street (East)

Extra Place, north from East 1st Street, showing at the extremity of this blind alley, buildings that face on the south side of East 2nd Street, under demolition. The New York Sun of May 3, 1938 reports that a gasoline station is to be constructed at the S.E. corner of the Bowery and East 2nd Street and necessitated this clearance which became more extensive than needed.
