Manhattan: Pell Street - Mott Street

(1) Pell Street, east from Mott Street to the Bowery and showing a portion of that locality known as Chinatown. Midway between the aforementioned points is Doyers Street, a short winding thoroughfare from the Bowery. In the latter is the famous bend known as the Bloody Angle. Chinese restaurants and curiosity shops line the curb, while upstairs a teeming horde resides. P. L. Sperr. September 3, 1927. (2) The same, at a later date. (3) Photographers vantage point for this view is at Doyers Street. In the left foreground is No. 12, a building that in the 90's housed a cabaret run by an individual known as Nigger Mike Salter.
