Queens: Queens Boulevard - 55th Avenue

Queens Boulevard, north side, west of Fifty-fifth Ave., to Broadway, showing in 4 views the Old Presbyterian Church and Cemetery of Newtown. The Church was destroyed by fire in May 1929. See other views. The rest of the buildings in this view were all demolished by Mar. 1, 1931. This church was erected in 1787 on site of a former one destroyed by the British during the Revolutionary War. Dr. John P. Knox was pastor from 1855 to 1882.
