Manhattan: South Street - Market Slip

South Street, west from (No. 225), a point slightly east of Market Slip, showing a general view of the immediate area and the "skyscrapers" of the lower Manhattan financial district, as seen from the Manhattan Bridge. The most prominent buildings shown (left to right) are; The Farmer's Loan and Trust Co.; the Wall Street Tower, the Bank of Manhattan Co.; the Singer (with dame); the Woolworth and the Municipal Buildings. Also shown is a portion of the Brooklyn Bridge and piers extending on the East River. Appearing in the foreground is the Hearst Publications Building (white), occupying the north side of South Street, between Market and Catherine Slips.
