East River, shore and skyline, Manhattea: The river front that lies between Market Slip on the left, and Pike Slip on the right. The photographers vantage point is the partially completed Brooklyn Bridge. Paralleling the shore is South Street. Following same are Water and Cherry Streets. The Seamen's Exchange is No. 452-4 on the former. At the lower right is the third floating Seamen's Church. The Manhattan Bridge will cross this area at a later date, and extend from the upper left to the lower right. 1876 Gift of the Seamen's Church Institute
