Manhattan: Carl Schurz Park - Gracie Mansion.

Carl Schurz Park. A set of four views of the Gracie Mansion located in the Park, east of East End Ave., between East 88th and 89th Streets, if these streets continued to the East River. It was acquired by the City of New York in 1896 from an owner-occupant, one Babcock. May 1923. Eugene L. Armbruster Collection. CLI The Gracie Mansion was designated as the official residence of the Mayor of the City of New York on January 8, 1942 by an act of the Board of Estimate. See "The New York Times," January 9, 1942.
