General view - [Manhattan - 20th Street (West) - Between 6th and 7th Avenues.]

143-145 W. 20th Street, north side, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, (general view northwestward). Two views forming a panorama of this north west segment. View 1 is westward towards London Terrace at 23rd Street, while No. 2 is northwards along Seventh Avenue. This thoroughfare appears diagonally across the foreground covering from 20th Street to 25th Street. The cleared site seen upon same is at the S. W. corner of W. 22nd Street and is in 1939 a gasoline station. The Hotel Carteret and the adjoining Chelsea, are on the south side of 23rd Street, just west of Seventh Avenue. Note the nine story Young Men's Christian Association Building partially obscured by the former. The large group of buildings to the north constitute the National Cloak and Suit Co. Building and are of 11 and 16 stories in height, occupying the westerly Frontage on Seventh Avenue of the 24th - 25th Street block. P. L. Sperr May 28, 1931 Views: 1-2
